LANDSLIDE EDUCATIONAL KIT

Coordinating with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, PA, the students in the class Learning in Museums were split into small groups. We were then tasked to design a friendly, facilitated activity that invited museum visitors to take a connected dive into a specific content area through prompted conversations and interactions. Using the Climate & Urban Systems Partnership (CUSP) kit approach, we drew on personal relevance, community participation, and interconnectedness to frame visitor engagements. Our kit is a game that focuses on how landslides in the Pittsburgh area impact the community and the different mitigation strategies that can be implemented on a community-wide scale.
